Brian Joe - CEO

Brian, the CEO of Apption, has led the company's successful growth with a passion for building strong software teams that deliver exceptional value and exceed client expectations whenever possible.
Brian has over 20 years of successful leadership experience in software product development and delivery, marketing, and business development with numerous high tech companies. Brian has held senior executive positions with Nortel, Newbridge, March Networks, and has successfully led several technology startups.
As a principal with Infopreneur Inc., an industry-leading software application company, he was instrumental in growing the company and managed its successful acquisition in 2001. Brian was also founder and CEO of NewStep Networks, a telecom software company with products deployed in major service provider networks. He has served on numerous boards, has been active in coaching youth sports teams, and enjoys the chance to advise and mentor both young and old emerging entrepreneurs.
Brian holds an Honours Electrical Engineering degree from Queen's University, and an MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University.
Sam Zaid - Advisory CTO

Sam is the Advisory Chief Technology Officer for Apption and brings over 15 years of experience in advanced software design, development, and in the delivery of enterprise solutions. Sam has worked with large enterprises such as Nortel, Hertz, Alcatel, Canada Post, and the Federal Government, as well as with startups such as Spartan Bioscience and Netistix to develop state-of-art software products. Prior to Apption, Sam held key technical lead positions with Nortel Networks, where he helped lead Nortel's first all-optical transmission switching system.
Sam is a 2008 Microsoft Code Award winner, an E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year 2009, a Google Scholarship recipient and alumni of the Singularity University Graduate Studies Program in artificial intelligence and robotics. He is an active member of the technology community, and a co-founder of Fresh Founders, a club for young technology entrepreneurs. Sam holds a degree in Engineering Physics with First-Class Distinction from Queen's University.
Zoltan Szaplonczay - VP Strategy

Zoltan is an accomplished executive with more than 30 years experience in high technology. He has performed many diverse senior roles that include business development and strategy, partnerships and M&A, marketing, product line management and product development. With broad international background, he has lived and worked in Canada, the United States, Germany and Great Britain.
Zoltan was most recently Chief Technology Officer for Wesley Clover, a private equity investment company, with prior positions held at Alcatel-Lucent, Newbridge Networks and Nortel Networks. He is an advisor to a number of Web Services, new media and Wesley Clover portfolio companies.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Kevin Quinlan - Advisory Sales & Marketing

Kevin plays an advisory role with Apption on Sales and Marketing, and is a senior leader in the IT software industry with over 20 years of experience in software, consulting, marketing, operations and financial management. With experience in many vertical industries, Kevin is a customer centric advocate and has provided sales and go-to-market thought leadership and guidance to world class technology companies like EMC, Teradata/NCR, Oracle and Honeywell.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Marketing from McMaster University.
