APPTION SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES SELECTION BY RTI WIRELESS TO PROVIDE COMMUNICATIONS PLATFORM FOR RTI WIRELESS’ FLEETVU APPLICATION Apption’s ability to deliver a prototype in a short timeframe assists RTI in winning contract for deployment of RTI’s FleetVU Application OTTAWA - Apption Software Corporation, an innovative provider of converged application development and new product introduction services, announced today that it has been selected by RTI Wireless for its convergent expertise to develop a highly scalable communications platform that provides real-time communications to over 20,000 mobile terminals while maintaining greater than 99.99% availability. Engaging Apption to provide application development services will allow RTI to efficiently grow its core strength in providing wireless tracking solutions. In particular, Apption’s ability to accelerate development timelines and to deliver a robust and scalable platform will enable RTI to maximize the return on its research and development investment in FleetVu. RTI Wireless, having licensed a fleet management software platform from its partner Loxane SA of France, needed to integrate this platform with CSI Wireless’ Asset-Link 410 GPRS unit to allow for operations in North America. The timeframe for having a working prototype was tight and critical because RTI was bidding on a project with a major supplier of fleet management services. RTI Wireless turned to Apption to supply the necessary application development expertise. “The short timeframe in which Apption was able to deliver a working prototype of the communications platform was pivotal in our ability to win this business,” said Neil Knudsen, President and CEO of RTI Wireless. “Apption was able to provide the agility and speed required in going from a concept to a working prototype.” Apption’s team is experienced in the conception, design, and deployment of converged applications that provide measurable return on investment. The technologies that Apption will integrate to provide a working solution include Win2003 Server, .NET, C#, XML, Web Services, SQL Server, ActiveX, GPRS, and GPS.
